Well, it's been over a year since I posted anything here. It's been a really chaotic year for everyone, that's for sure. Charlie and Braylon are doing great and have more energy then ever.
They really seem to enjoy hanging out and just staring out of the big windows we have in the front of the house. As soon as we let them outside they just run sprints around the yard until they are breathing so hard that they can't run anymore, for the next 5 minutes at least.
We haven't made it out to a meetup in over a year since they put a limit on the number of people that can attend. It's just hard for us to commit to going and we don't want to use 2 spots that someone else may be better obligated to attend. Oh well, the pups get more then enough running around but they do need to be more socially involved too... maybe we'll make a better effort to get to another meetup soon!

Anyway, it's been nice to stop for a few and reminisce about the past year... I'm sure there's much more in store for this year too.
Is this thing on???

It's been a while since the last entry here and that's mainly because I've been lazy and I assume nobody reads this thing anyway. :-)
Well, the pups got fixed almost 3 weeks ago now and they are finally back in full stride again... Braylon was ready to go after 2 or 3 day but Charlie was out of commission for almost a week so we made them relax and not over exert for the better part of 2 weeks and anyone that owns a boxer knows that *attempting* to keep a boxer "relaxed" for a week is next to impossible... the best thing we did was let them play in short spurts and then give them a pain pill and they would crash for a while. I have found that dogs REALLY feed off of the energy around them so I spent a lot of time with the pups just being calm with them... if anyone knows me very well, they know that I'm not normally a "sit and stare at the television" person as I always feel like I should be doing something (with a few minor exceptions). Either way, relaxing with the pups for a week helped them heal up quicker and gave me some time to calm down too, so I think it worked out for the best. Hopefully the pups will be ready to roll come time for the March Boxer Bash!
If you can't stop it, record it!

Just taking a quick moment to post a short video I made of the pups today in the backyard. These guys will do this for hours and hours on-end... it makes me exhausted just watching them! I also started up a new board in our forum for people to post videos. Check it out!

Yes, it's true. Puppies do grow! Last week, I took Charlie and Braylon to the vet to get them their Heartguard® and Frontline® and found out that Charlie is now up to 48.8 lbs and Braylon comes in at 46.3 lbs. We are still patiently waiting for him to hit his spurt and shoot up a few pounds over Charlie but we were told it may be well into a year old before that happens.
Let me tell you... Charlie is solid as a brick these days. Well, hopefully sooner then later we will be meeting up with everyone for a boxer bash and maybe the pups can run-off some of their energy (HAHA yea, right). Thanks to the newest members of the message board for taking the time to sign-up and posting to help get things going!
Have you ever heard of Doggles® before? Whilst browsing through PetSmart a few weeks back before our last Ohio trip we decided that since Charlie LOVES to poke her head out the window and we were about to be in the truck driving to Ohio for the next 12 hours we had better get her something to protect her eyes from bugs, rocks, and whatnot. Here ensued one of THE FUNNIEST pictures and overall puppy experiences to date. Witness below... Charlie in her Doggles®:
She goes into what I call "Boxer Slow Motion" and walks around the house in super-slow motion (if at all). She doesn't try to get them off and still does her normal stuff like chew on bones (or her brother) she just does it in super-slow motion. I still laugh when I see this picture...there are a couple of more posted in the photo gallery if you find it as funny as I do.
Last thing... we finally had another post and another picture added to the "How does your boxer sleep?" thread in the forum... you have to check it out.
